April slips by

walking in sunny Fremont

attempt some photo experiments that are frankly too formatory even for me, but it feels necessary to work in whatever way is possible.

what's going on?

Morning walk at Green Lake today

At the office, the AVP of Marketing - on the job for less than five months - is leaving at the end of this month. She has been acting as the head of the division and brought something very much like sanity to the organization. In less than three months, she whipped the team into shape and pulled off the most successful NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) presence the company has had to date. She led a major office renovation (which none of us believed was possible.) And it looked like this team was going to be something real. Apparently that was not satisfactory to the Chairman. To say we are bummed is an understatement.

The only ray of sunshine in the office:

Loki, the office dog.

Posted a Craigslist ad to sell my drawing table.

No nibbles so far... the price may need to come down.

Bach Two-Part Invention #4 in D Minor

two last minute entries

the Prius

I needed to take the Prius in for $75K service and decided to bring up - one more time - the braking issue I have had with this car since i got it in 2004. (I heard a radio report last night on the 2010 Prius issues - and it sounded remarkably like the problem I have for the last six years. It proved to be a frustrating experience. If there is no response from Toyota in two weeks, I'll be contacting the NTSB.

graphic design work

Another season of Tuning the Air is on the horizon - and that means a new poster design...

It always seems important to include some out-of-this-world ideas, and these are what I came up with.

In working on these I found the logo a huge constraint. It needs to be large enough to read the letters from a distance. The result is that it takes up a good deal of real estate on the poster.

A visitor from SF

Dr. Needleman was in town for a reading at Elliot Bay Books. Afterward, a reception was held for him in Wallingford.
